Thank you for your interest in Lincoln Academy! Our Open enrollment has closed. We will continue to accept applications for 5th through 9th grade. Please do not fill out an application if you do not have a child in these grades. We held our Lottery on February 24, 2010. Currently we are in the process of contacting those students who where drawn in the lottery process, this takes several weeks. In the first weeks following the lottery there is a lot of movement in the waiting lists. We will continue to contact families as spaces become available. This process continues throughout the school year until the fall. By March 10, 2010 will will email families regarding their waiting list number. Please check back to this website for the most current enrollment information. For all enrollment questions email us at enrollment@lincoln-academy.org. Lincoln Academy opened in August 2005. Lincoln Academy is a free public school of choice. All students desiring admission into the school may apply. In accordance with State and Federal requirements, Lincoln Academy does not discriminate based on race, creed, color, religion, gender, national origin, or ability/disability status. Small class sizes are a high priority at Lincoln Academy. Our adult to student ratio is approximately 15 students to every adult, which includes the teacher and teaching assistant. Our ideal target for class size is between 25 and 30 students per class. For each grade with fewer applicants than positions available, all students will be admitted. If the number of applicants exceeds the number of positions available, students will be chosen by a random lottery. Following the lottery, you will receive a letter, email or phone call notifying you of your child’s enrollment status. Once a student is selected through the lottery process, the siblings of that family are also enrolled in their respective classes - if openings are still available. Otherwise, siblings remain on the sibling preference list and will be notified when positions become available. If the status of your child changes, you will be contacted. All those entering Kindergarten must be 5 years old before the September 1, 2010 deadline. Once notified that your children have been selected, you will then be given one week to complete the enrollment process by registering your children. You will be required to provide copies of your children's birth certificates and immunization records. If you do not have these readily available, please gather them now so you be able to access them quickly if your child is selected. If you fail to register your children during the time allotted, you will forfeit their enrollment status at the school, and other students will be given the opportunity to enroll at the school. If your child is not chosen during our initial enrollment period, your enrollment application will be saved for that school year. As positions become available for your child, you will be contacted. If your child is not accepted via the lottery, you must reapply every year during open enrollment to be admitted into the lottery. If you have questions about enrollment, email them to enrollment@lincoln-academy.org
