I am so excited to be here at Lincoln Academy! I am beyond impressed with the teachers, classrooms, and administration. I love the continual push to strive to do better and be better in every way, and this attitude seems to be reflected in our students as well. I am so impressed with those I have met here at the school and count myself lucky to have the opportunity to work with them. I am also thrilled about teaching Middle School Language Arts at a school I love! In the English Department, we have been working hard to build an interesting and challenging curriculum. I look forward to facilitating opportunities for students to discover and rediscover the light and happiness that comes with the power of words.
On a personal note, I am the mother of 3 children. This year I will have a kindergartner starting here at Lincoln Academy. I grew up in New Mexico and have lived in Germany, Australia, Missouri and Michigan. I attended BYU and studied both English and Biology. Utah has been my home for the last 14 years, and I have loved living in such a beautiful place.
My teaching philosophy has grown and developed over the years. It has been impacted by my own desire to constantly learn, by exceptional educators I have worked with, and especially by my children who have taught me that not all students are the same but each has an innate need to succeed. I sincerely believe that every child’s needs should be addressed at their current level of performance; to be met where they are, and through effort, heart, and guidance, there are no limits to what can be accomplished.
