The history department at Lincoln Academy believes that learning history should be fun! We believe that though textbooks can be a great supplement to education, there are so many more ways to study history. We teach using many primary sources including first-hand accounts, photographs, paintings, artifacts, and songs. We use different teaching strategies such as writing, art/craft projects, reenactments, videos, PowerPoint/Smart Board presentations, and simulations. We love to play games! Geography is a big part of our History curriculum as well. We understand that geography and history go hand in hand and therefore, it is our responsibility to teach students how geography has affected history. We love teaching and are always researching and implementing new cutting edge strategies to most effectively educate our students.
