Enrollment

LOTTERY RESULTS:

The Lottery for the 2017-2018 school year has been processed.   We will continue to accept wait list applications.  There are still a few positions available in 6th grade for 2017-2018. The wait list is available to view by returning to your account.

Lincoln Academy opened in August 2005. Lincoln Academy is a free public school of choice. All students desiring admission into the school may apply. In accordance with State and Federal requirements, Lincoln Academy does not discriminate based on race, creed, color, religion, gender, national origin, or ability/disability status. Small class sizes are a high priority at Lincoln Academy. Our adult to student ratio is approximately 15 students to every adult, which includes the teacher and teaching assistant. Our ideal target for class sizes is between 25 and 30 students per class. Our classes are comprised of 2 kindergarten classes, 3 classes from 1st through 5th grade, 4 classes in 6th grade and an estimated 320 students for junior high grades 7 through 9.

Following the open enrollment period, in each grade with fewer applicants than positions available, all students will be admitted. If the number of applicants exceeds the number of positions available, students will be chosen by a random lottery. Following the lottery, you will receive an email or phone call notifying you of your child’s enrollment status. Once a student is selected through the lottery process, the siblings of that family are also enrolled in their respective classes – if openings are still available. Otherwise, siblings remain on the sibling preference list and will be notified when positions become available. If the status of your child changes, you will be contacted. Once all positions have been filled you may return to the enrollment page using your user name and password to see the wait list number for your student(s). As students enroll, the wait list will automatically be updated. All those entering Kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before the September 1st deadline. Junior High students may be offered Release Time on an “as needed” basis.

Once notified that your children have been selected, you will then be given one week to complete the enrollment process by registering your children. You will be required to provide copies of your children’s birth certificates and immunization records. If you do not have these readily available, please gather them now so you will be able to access them quickly if your children are selected. If you fail to register your children during the time allotted, you may forfeit their enrollment status at the school, and other students will be given the opportunity to enroll at the school. If your children are not chosen during our initial enrollment period, your enrollment application will be saved for that school year only. As positions become available families will be contacted.
