Broadcast Journalism (GOTV) class focusing on how to use the media. The future of journalism lies in media and technology, but still requires the ability to write! Students learn how to write a good story, how to interview and then produce story packages to be aired on one of our monthly newscasts. Students go out into the school and community, as well as research current events to find stories. They then interview, film, and compile in a quick and respectful manner, learning to meet crucial deadlines. Students do everything from reporting, to filming, to editing, to research, therefore some knowledge of technology is required, but much is learned in class as well. This class, offered to 7-9th graders, is a FULL YEAR class, not just a semester. It is also by permission only, so applications must be submitted beforehand. Its a great opportunity to learn technology in a very relevant way.
